Parish Finance and Administration
The finances and the property of our two communities are
overseen by the Finance Committee which comprises the Parish
Priest as President, a Chairperson, and a number of parishioners
representing each of our two communities. The Finance Committee
meets six times each year.
The role of the Finance Committee is to ensure that the parish
has sufficient income, to approve expenditure, to prepare and
monitor the annual budget, and to look to the maintenance and
repair needs of the parish property. The Finance Committee is
also responsible for ensuring that the annual financial report which
is sent to the Diocesan Office and also for preparing the report
which is presented to the parish.
Our principal source of income comes from the contributions
made by members of the parish via the Sunday collection. Our
financial needs are substantial since our expenditure must cover
the following areas:
- the employment of our Parish Staff - Parish Secretary, Pastoral Care Assistant,
Sacramental Programme Coordinators and Youth Ministry Coordinator
- who all do so much to keep our communities as vital as they are.
- the financing of our various parish ministries, activities
and programmes - which you will see are many and various if you
click on the link 'Activities'
- the normal operating costs that come with the operating of
two church centres - office expenses, maintenance of our computer
network, telecommunications, insurance, etc
- the very substantial area of repairs and maintenance of
our buildings and grounds (the Finance Committee has a standing
Maintenance Sub-Committee which oversees this important area of
parish responsibility)
In order to address these many needs of our two communities
we need your financial support. We ask all members of our
community to contribute to the Second Collection in one of
the following ways:
- Weekly Envelopes: which are placed in the collection
bowl each weekend during Mass.
- Periodical Contributions: in which a reminder letter
can be sent to you by the Parish Office on a quarterly,
half-yearly or yearly basis should you prefer to make a
contribution according to these time periods. Credit card
facilities are available should you wish to use them with this
option (the periodical reminder letter contains a form which
you can complete, giving your credit card details and the
amount you wish to contribute).
- Monthly Debit to Credit Card: the Parish Office can
make a charge to your nominated credit card on a monthly basis
according to a signed authority, offering a ‘set and forget’
option for those who would like to set up a regular system for
their contributions rather than having to complete an
authorisation on each occasion. Of course you can withdraw
your authorisation for these contributions at any time.
- Monthly Debit to your Bank Account: the Parish Office
can debit your nominated bank account on a monthly basis
(on the second Monday of each month) according to a signed
authority, offering a ‘set and forget’ option for those who
would like to set up a regular system for their contributions
rather than having to complete an authorisation on each occasion.
Of course you can withdraw your authorisation for these
contributions at any time.
If you would like to assist the pastoral work of the Parish
financially and are not yet a member of the Parish Giving
Programme, or if you would like to change the method by which
you make your contributions, please click the link below and
complete the form which can then be returned or faxed to the
appropriate Parish Office.
