About Us | Epping Carlingford Parish

Welcome to our parish!

The Catholic Parish of Epping and Carlingford is part of the Diocese of Broken Bay. It embraces the former parishes of Epping originally established in 1916 with the Church of Our Lady Help of Christians as its Parish Church, and Carlingford originally established in 1962 with the Church of St Gerard Majella as its Parish Church. We hope that whichever of our two communities, OLHC or St Gerard's, you have moved into, your new community will be able to help and support you in your own journey of faith.

We at Epping & Carlingford are truly blessed with a devoted team of clergy, staff, and volunteers who, though coming from varied backgrounds, share one united mission. Together, we strive to nurture the liturgical, pastoral, and everyday life of our parish family.

If you are new, our New Parishioner Engagement Co-ordinators pictured above, Belinda Shi (for St Gerard's) and Christine Carpio (for OLHC) will be most delighted to hear from you.

Hundreds of people express their love for God by serving in a ministry in our parish. We have opportunities in practical outreach through St Vincent de Paul and Jesuit Refugee Services. We have opportunities in hospitality through greeting at Mass, serving morning tea or cooking a BBQ. We have opportunities in liturgical ministries of the Word, altar, liturgical environment, audio visuals and music. We have opportunities in teaching children through special religious education at state schools, or children’s liturgy during Mass.
